What the heck am I talking about? Canon Error E18.. Well, that is the error our camera gave us a couple of weeks ago as it decided not to work.. We tried changing the battery, cleaning it, everything we could think of to fix it.. but nothing.. We didn’t know what to do so I decided to investigate this Error E18 that it was giving us through the Internet.. At first I found a couple of websites stating to just throw the camera away because and Error 18 could not be easily fixed and that Canon would charge almost the cost of the camera itself..

Desparate I kept searching until I came upon a webpage called E18error and in it there were five simple steps to try before you gave up.. As I started reading them, I began to laugh because they all seemed so simple as if this site was really a joke.. But after trying step 3 which stated:

3)  “Another method is to tap the padded USB cover part on a hard surface, for example, a desk. It sounds so simple, but very often in works.”

Matt & I laughed but he hit the camera against the table just as it said and voila!! the camera works.. I know, it doesn’t sound right but there you have it, never give up, and never be afraid to try something that may sound weird…

When can I go swimming? when can I go swimming????? That is the only thing we have heard for 4 days now!! Poor Marco can’t take it anymore, so finally tomorrow he will be able to go back in the pool after his swiming pool cut incident. The poor thing has been a good sport about it, eventhough I think it has been the hottest days of the summer and all his friends were yelling for him to just jump in….

It has been more of a punishment for us than for him, let me tell you.. Anyway, the picture above was done with a new cool photo website called slide.com where you can convert your pictures into really neat slide shows.. I made a quick one to test it out and its in the header as you can see.. If the music bothers you, you can simply turn it off in the left top corner.. Tell me what you think??

Online resources I can’t live without

When talking to different people who are not as “obseesed” as I’m with the computer, I realize that there are certain programs I use that are very useful (thanks to my tech friends who pass along all their knowledge) that most people are not aware of.. So, I would like to dedicate this post to some of those….

First things first I currently use Firefox instead of internet explorer because it has a lot of cool extensions that you can easily add such as a multi language spell checker. Another great tool is del.icio.us an online favorites saver where you can store your favorite websites and be able to retrieve them from any computer. Google Reader is also a must for me to gather all my favorite blogs. I also change to google mail because within it you have access to online calendar, spreadsheets, word, notebook and presentation tools.., so you don’t need to take your own computer everywhere, everything is saved as you go..As far as online picture storage I’m currently using Picasa but I might change to flickr because the offer a lot more storage space for free, where in Picasa once you reach a limit you must pay a yearly fee.

Not to mention all the tools I use for my blogs.. but that is another post I think. I leave you with the above to see if there is anything in there that might help you speed things up a bit in your life.

Have you ever googled yourself?
Posted on March 12th, 2008 @ 1:33 pm

I always google Matt to make sure that all his new projects are being reflected on his web and on the internet and that there is nothing out there that shouldn’t be. So the other day I wondered what would happen if I googled myself…and to my surprise many interesting things from my past showed up….

For instance there was interview I did back when I worked for a swim wear store for the Lauderdale Daily News, a credit for a recording a did for Matt’s friend Ken Hensley who just came out with his new album called Blood on the Highway, this blog comes up, and some other weirdo things that don’t even relate to me..hahah. I also found there is another Nuria Pendas who lives in Mallorca and owns a restaurant, she emailed me a while back to let me know about all our similarites..

So, if you haven’t googled yourself lately, go on try it see what comes up…
