Every year the end of the school year the kids do their little dance and song number depending on what activity they have been in all throughout.. In our case ballet for Bella and Judo (got his green/blue belt) and Guitar for Marco (not to forget Soccer). So this past month between rehearshals, costume changes and a little nerves the kids got up on stage and showed us what they had learned.

You can see all the pics HERE. as well as a couple of videos you will enjoy…

Party Weekend

This weekend was a nonstop party for me.. With the announcement of my new drivers license my friends decided we needed to celebrate (any excuse for a girls night out) so on Friday night, the girls and I went out to dinner and a night of dancing around town..We got home early well.. very early for Spain just before 4 am.. We left when people were just starting to party.. Put it this way we finished having dinner at 1 am…

On Saturday night we were invited to the David Bustamante concert. Most of you probably don’t know who he is and I didn’t either but I found out he was the 4th runner up of the very first Operacion Triunfo contest, Spain’s version of American Idol. Matt’s friend is a friend of his and his guitar player Pablo Padilla . We hung out with Pablo backstage before the concert and briefly met David Bustamante, a very nice down to earth guy. The concert was in a little town called Novelda, a very small little town, but the concert was great, it started at 1 am (yes, we are in Spain, everything starts a little later than usual..) and we were home around 4 am…

Sunday, I was exahausted and just hung out in the pool making sure Isabella didn’t drown!! She just learnt how to swim and is a little too brave.. I will share that story tomorrow…..

Sorry it has taken so long to write again but the last week of school was full of activities, parties and many, many more activities..The kids had their end of school performance where Bella danced, Marco did a Judo exhibition and played the guitar. My dad and M.T were here visiting so they got to enjoy the long… performances.. hahaha.

Bella danced a Flamenco and a Hawaiian dance.. She did great.. At the end she bowed so long she wouldn’t get back up. Marco did a Judo exhibition where he earned his orange and green belt, and played the guitar with his guitar class. Over all, we were very proud of our little performers and we are glad they have no fear of being on stage. You can view all pictures and videos HERE.

Isabella’s dance recital
Posted on June 15th, 2007 @ 10:26 pm

Ok, so I was very nervous wondering what little missy was going to do once she was up on stage. Would she cry, just stand there, start screaming her head off, or simply just walk off the stage. It never even entered my mind that she might actually dance..but she did.. a little too much, she did the choreography before she had to but really enjoyed herself. The first thing she did when she got up on the stage is look for me in the audience, as soon as she found me she started to wave and tell her friends.. there’s my mom, there’s my mom.. hey mom.. and waving.. (pretty embarrassing) but sooooo cute.

Pictured, I think you can recognize her, she is the one with the white bow on top of her head and the skinny legs.

The performance was great and I was very proud. You can see a little clip here.

Marco’s first piano recital
Posted on June 1st, 2007 @ 9:29 pm

I know I’m a proud mother but today was just overwhelming. Marco had his first piano recital and I have to say he did it the best..not because he is my son, because I’m very critical and realistic, he was the only one who did not make a mistake or stop or ask for help or cry because he didn’t want to do it…He was brave and had no fear, he just walked right up to the piano with his sheet music (which he didn’t even use, because he memorizes the music) and started to play.

His song was short but was flawless, you can see a video here

Marco was a star in the musical Grease in School
Posted on May 29th, 2007 @ 6:36 pm

Ok, so it wasn’t a big musical number, it was a lunchroom performance that the parents were not invited to, but from what I hear it was a big success. From the musical grease, the boys and girls had been rehearsing for days.

Marco recreated his performance here at home and boy is he talented.. hahahaaa…. let’s just say, theater may not be his strong suit.

You can view a mini video here
