Marco Can’t wait to get back in the pool

When can I go swimming? when can I go swimming????? That is the only thing we have heard for 4 days now!! Poor Marco can’t take it anymore, so finally tomorrow he will be able to go back in the pool after his swiming pool cut incident. The poor thing has been a good sport about it, eventhough I think it has been the hottest days of the summer and all his friends were yelling for him to just jump in….

It has been more of a punishment for us than for him, let me tell you.. Anyway, the picture above was done with a new cool photo website called slide.com where you can convert your pictures into really neat slide shows.. I made a quick one to test it out and its in the header as you can see.. If the music bothers you, you can simply turn it off in the left top corner.. Tell me what you think??

Marco gets injured
Posted on August 2nd, 2008 @ 3:20 pm

Yes, it might look like a sports injury from the look of the bandaged foot but nop, it was a pool incident. We went over to my friend’s house Marisela and the kids went swimming, they were having a great time when all of a sudden, Marco started screaming and held his foot out of the pool which was drenched in blood. He somehow cut the bottom of his foot with we still don’t know what. I stopped the bleeding but the cut looked deep and seemed to have particles of something inside, so off to the emergency room…

The doctor said the cut was not very deep and put on some new type of band aid stitches and wrapped up his entire foot, as he was doing this Marco said “Are you going to wrap me up like the mommy?“..hahahaa. Poor thing, he can’t go swimming for 4 days or play any sports.. He is very depressed but is being a great sport..

Isabella helps likes helping her brother bringing him things and making sure he is ok…

Spain winner of Eurocup 2008

As most of you know Spaniards are soccer fanatics!! well, since we are living here, Matt & Marco have joined in the madness.. Tonight was the final game of the Eurocup Spain vs Germany and our entire urba gathered downstairs to watch the game and have some beers.. The men mostly watched the games while the kids ran around playing and the wives just gossiped and also drank some beers. As you can see from the pictured above the men were very into the game.. Luckily we won 1-0 after a 44 year losing streak.. You could imagine the celebration here… fireworks, screaming fans, cars beeping…and everyone jumped in the pool with their red t-shirts!!

Marco and Bella prepared by painting the Spanish flag on their cheeks..

They also prepared Matt while he took a nap by painting flags and the word “podemos” (we can, the motto of the game) on his back!!

End of School performances

Sorry it has taken so long to write again but the last week of school was full of activities, parties and many, many more activities..The kids had their end of school performance where Bella danced, Marco did a Judo exhibition and played the guitar. My dad and M.T were here visiting so they got to enjoy the long… performances.. hahaha.

Bella danced a Flamenco and a Hawaiian dance.. She did great.. At the end she bowed so long she wouldn’t get back up. Marco did a Judo exhibition where he earned his orange and green belt, and played the guitar with his guitar class. Over all, we were very proud of our little performers and we are glad they have no fear of being on stage. You can view all pictures and videos HERE.

Marco drawing
Posted on June 9th, 2008 @ 3:00 am

marcodrawing.jpg

Marco is like me when it come to drawing, we are a bit limited..but the other day he did a painting that although is not a drawing perfection the meaning is 1000 times better. The picture you see above is Marco’s interpretation of the planet and all the children in it, holding hands. The children are all different colors and sizes but are united around the world.

He made it for Matt  I and he also writes “buena suerte mama”, because on Wednesday the 11th I’m taking the written part of the drivers test which he hopes I pass. Anyway, an artist he might not be but a very loving and caring boy he sure is…

Marco’s “Chichon”
Posted on May 15th, 2008 @ 4:25 pm

marcobumpinhead.jpg
Marco fell yesterday and hit his head with the corner of the radiator and got a huge “chichon” what a huge bump in the head is called here in Spain. It looked like the sort of bump that happens to cartoon characters when they are hit with a hammer or something of the sort..I was petrified so I took him to the doctor but he assured me that he would be fine.

I guess his big hard head is good for something.. The poor thing did not have a good day, he went on a school trip to Terra Natura, where he told me in his own words “I saw a big CACA of elephant, a blue en venenosa, how to you say that in english frog, a lion who was asleep, and some bichitos very little, and we walked a lot, I was hot, and I ate a big bocadillo of chorizo”. (do you like all the spanglish) And on the bus ride back he barfed all over himself and his friend Carlos who started to yell at the top of his lungs for someone to come help his friend.

Overall, not a good day for Marco, and for me..

Marco had his semi-final soccer game this weekend and they beat their opponents 5-1. Marco plays defense and just loves to not only play soccer, watch it on TV, play video games, computer games, collect cards.. He is a real fanatic..His tecnique is getting better but I’m not getting my hopes up that he will be the next Beckham.

But for now he is very happy and the exercise  is good for him..

Marco has an underbite
Posted on May 6th, 2008 @ 8:45 pm

marcounderbite.jpg

Poor little Marco, he has a bit of an underbite. We had to take him to the dentist last week to find out what will happen to him. The dentist said that we will have to wait until his two upper baby teeth fall out and his adult teeth come in to see how bad the underbite is.. If it corrects itself, nothing will be done, if not.. its braces for Marco sooner than he would want..

I think he looks cute but we want to make sure he grows up to be a handsome young man.

Marco best at Osotogari
Posted on April 23rd, 2008 @ 5:40 pm

Today Marco received the congratulation of his judo teacher for having the best Osotogari tecnique. He personally congratulated me and said Marco was getting better and better everyday, after 3 years in Judo Marco finally receives some praise.. The teacher was more excited than Marco.. His face showed a lot of emotion, as if to say FINALLY!!! hahahaha.. I guess he feels after all his hard work at last he sees some feedback.

Marco tried to show me what this judo move was but I had to look it up for myself. I found a video in youtube so you can all see what it is.. Congratulations Marco!!!

Marco’s first plant
Posted on April 15th, 2008 @ 8:50 pm

marcoplant.jpg

As a school project, Marco was asked to buy a small plant and take care of it. He was very excited and couldn’t wait to get it home when we bought it. He spent the entire day looking at it and giving it water and offering it cookies. I told him that some plants don’t need water everyday and that it’s not good to give them too much water or they will die. I also let him know that plants didn’t particularly like cookies, to which he responded “How about pizza?”. He also insisted in sleeping with the plant, to which I also had to explain that it was not a great idea!!

Anyway,  after a couple of days he still shows great interest in the plant, and can’t wait to show it off in school in a couple of days.. (the project was actually to take it to school and leave it there, but he didn’t want to leave it in school because he thought it would be too lonely on the weekends and at night, so he asked the teacher if he could take care of it at home).

I will let you know how the plant survives….
