Say goodbye to the uniformPosted on May 31st, 2007 @ 2:07 pm

I’m a little sad today, school is almost out for the summer and another year has gone by. The kids are growing up so fast, I sometimes wish I could just stop time (with the exception of Bella’s fits, where there I wish to fast foward a bit).
School officially starts here when you are 3 years old meaning Isabella will start in September. Currently she attends a sort of nursery school, which lucky me is right in front of Marco’s school. In that school, she needs to wear a uniform, and starting tomorrow until the end of the school year mid June, they no longer need to wear it, and since it is her last year in that school… today is the last day we will see her dressed like this, and I’m really going to miss it. She looks soo cute in it. boohooo…
To top things off Marco starts first grade in September, so he is not a baby anymore. (here the first 3 years of school are considered pre K). I hear they do an actual graduation and all.. I will make sure to have Kleenex ready for that.
So, I leave you with one last thought… Did you really enjoy your kids growing up? Do you wish you would have done something different? Please comment and let me know…

Feedback for my new BlogPosted on May 30th, 2007 @ 2:14 pm
Since I started this blog last week and sent out an email to all of my friends giving them the links, I have received the following feedback:
Some responded to my email with a one phrase response indicating that I’m a geek, others are not sure what a blog is, and even though there is a direct link that they just need to click on, it seems very scary to them, others quite simply have not responded, which I assume is either because they didn’t get the e-mail or have caught on and are reading this right now, then there were a couple of you who really liked it and want one of their own.
The blog world is not as scary as it looks ,it is not a hidden cult that will take you in and change your life, yes, it might change the way you look at new technology and the future of communication. Most of my friends are probably reaching their 40’s if they have not already passed that age and are a little hesitant of all this new weird stuff.
I hope you all get inspired and start your own blog so we can all stay in touch. If you want to find out more, comment on this post and I will give you step by step lessons on how you too can be a geek like me……

Marco was a star in the musical Grease in SchoolPosted on May 29th, 2007 @ 6:36 pm

Ok, so it wasn’t a big musical number, it was a lunchroom performance that the parents were not invited to, but from what I hear it was a big success. From the musical grease, the boys and girls had been rehearsing for days.
Marco recreated his performance here at home and boy is he talented.. hahahaaa…. let’s just say, theater may not be his strong suit.

Marco remembered he knows how to swimPosted on May 27th, 2007 @ 2:33 pm

Although it was not very sunny today but very windy Marco wanted to go swimming. The day was in between sun and clouds and he just kept looking out of the window to see if there was anyone in the pool, but nothing. Every few minutes he would check and see until finally I heard the yelling “Sofia, Sofia is in the deep end of the pool” “Mama, Mama hurry, hurry we need to go downstairs” and so we did. The water was freezing but that didn’t stop him and he jumped right in..
At first he was a little hesitant and wasn’t sure if he remembered how to swim. He held on tight to the edge until, he finally realized, hey I float.. yippeee…..then little by little, the same reason I was forced to take him to the pool (Sofia), became the same reason others started coming down. Marco saw Sofia swimming, Cristina saw Marco swimming, Emma saw Cristina swimming, Maria saw Emma swimming and so on and so on until the entire urbanization of neighbors was downstairs hoping their kids would not jump in to the freezing cold water.
All kids went in and swam for a little while but came out frozen, except Marco that swam for about an hour and a half until I had to take him out when his lips were blue…

Marco’s first Soccer MatchPosted on May 26th, 2007 @ 9:36 pm

Marco had his first soccer (here it is called futbol) match. His school called El Faro against another school team. He woke up at 7:30 am, dressed and ready to go..the game did not start until 10 am. He was so excited. The game was great, although they lost 1 to 2, but if you ask Marco how the game was he would tell you that his team one. He is not a great loser, the poor guy loves to always win and hasn’t realized that sometimes in life we can’t always win. Either way, we had a great time. Isabella cheered her brother on and then we went to the beach and had a great day.
